Upon arrival in Aswan, you’ll be met by one of our representatives at the train station or airport and transferred to your cruise ship, your floating home for the next four days. After checking in and enjoying lunch on board, the journey begins with a guided visit to the beautiful Philae Temple, gracefully perched on an island and dedicated to the goddess Isis. The temple is reached by a short boat ride—an unforgettable way to arrive at one of Egypt’s most romantic ancient sites.
Next, you’ll visit the impressive Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering feat that tamed the mighty Nile, followed by a stop at the Unfinished Obelisk, offering a fascinating peek into ancient stone-carving techniques.
As the sun begins to set, relax aboard a traditional felucca sailboat, gliding around the botanical gardens and Elephantine Island—an atmospheric way to end your first day on the Nile.
Enjoy dinner onboard and settle in for a peaceful night docked in Aswan.
Optional Experience: Visit a Nubian Village to enjoy traditional hospitality, colorful homes, and herbal tea by the river.
Wake up to breakfast as your cruise sails north toward the twin temple of Kom Ombo, spectacularly positioned right on the riverbank. This unique temple is dedicated to two gods—Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon-headed god. Your guide will explain the fascinating symmetry of the temple and reveal secrets of its medical carvings and mummified crocodiles in the adjacent museum.
After lunch back on board, the cruise continues to Edfu, home to one of Egypt’s best-preserved temples. You’ll travel to the temple by horse-drawn carriage, adding a dash of old-world charm to your adventure. The Temple of Horus at Edfu feels like stepping into a time capsule of Ptolemaic Egypt, with towering columns, engraved walls, and massive gateways.
In the late afternoon, relax on the sun deck, enjoy afternoon tea, or simply watch daily life pass by on the Nile’s banks. Dinner is served on board as you continue sailing toward Luxor.
After breakfast onboard, prepare to dive deep into the ancient grandeur of Luxor, often called the world’s greatest open-air museum.
Begin with a guided visit to Karnak Temple, a sprawling complex of sanctuaries, pylons, and obelisks dedicated primarily to the god Amun. Walk through the epic Great Hypostyle Hall, with its 134 giant columns—a place so majestic it leaves even seasoned travelers speechless.
Later, explore the elegant Luxor Temple, located closer to the river and beautifully illuminated at dusk. Built by Amenhotep III and added to by Ramses II, this temple was used for religious festivals and is intricately tied to Karnak by the famous Avenue of Sphinxes.
In the evening, enjoy dinner on the cruise and relax, or explore the lively local souks and cafés nearby.
Optional: Attend the Sound & Light Show at Karnak Temple for an immersive retelling of the site’s ancient history.
Start your final day with an early breakfast before heading out to explore the West Bank of Luxor, the land of the afterlife in ancient Egyptian belief.
Your first stop is the legendary Valley of the Kings, where more than 60 royal tombs lie carved into the desert cliffs. You’ll enter several tombs to admire the vibrant wall paintings that have survived thousands of years. (Optional visit to King Tutankhamun’s tomb is available.)
Continue to the majestic Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an architectural masterpiece built into the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari, and one of the few temples in Egypt dedicated to a female ruler.
Before heading back, stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have stood guard for over 3,400 years.
Return to the cruise ship for checkout, then transfer to Luxor’s train station or airport for your onward journey—carrying with you the memories of a truly magical Nile adventure.
